Gijs, I believe you are correct - the days of the big trade shows and conventions are quickly coming to a close. I worked in the convention center business for 20 years, and every year the shows would be smaller and tighter. The Corona years accelerated the trend, but with the current and further development of online information and "influencers", I believe most people are not willing to pay the costs for the travel, lodging, food, entrance, parking, that come with a visit to the show. Jammer, but understandable. However, to put it into an environmental framework, scanning the internet and RUclips for ideas and information has a much smaller environmental footprint (at least in primary costs) than experiencing a show live and in color. Less tactile for sure, but less impact. I, personally, like the shows but time they are a'changing...

Beware of the fit. It is more like a slim fit. As a guy with broad shoulders and chest it’s way too restrictive. Patagonia large down lightweight jackets fit me perfectly so I ordered a large online of this jacket and it’s unwearable as it is too tight around the chest and torso.

Hey Gijs, Super leuk te zien jouw kampeermethode, wat zo’n wagen eigenlijk is: een kampeer methode. Veel had je al eerder laten zien. En ach ach over bijna ieder onderwerp heb ik wel wat te zeggen, zou ik vaak anders doen etc. 😊 Geweldig toch? 😊 Belangrijkste is: Zweden en landklimaat en steden vermijden. Geen al te lange regen is in Zweden wel een probleem, maar jullie staan vaak naast huisjes. Dus niet helemaal echt ‘independent’. 😉 Maar heel leuk allemaal en complimenten voor de vele aanpassingen. Je 'vergroeit' met zo’n systeem vanzelf, heb ik ook in mijn ‘echte’ camper. Maar mijn manier van reizen is meer echt ‘independent’ ook in steden, dorpen, lange regendagen, vrieskou etc. Een keuken binnen hebben en niets buiten heb je dan echt vaak nodig. Geweldig je electronica, net heb ik dat ook voltooid met als basis inderdaad twee powerstations en een 100 Watt inklapbaar extern zonnepaneel. En een nieuwe sterke dynamo op mijn motor … etc. Mijn camper is voor de medelezers: een VW T3 kampeerbus met klapdak met slaapplek dus voor 4 personen. Groet weer, Onno. Ah ja en een of meerdere tenten meenemen is superleuk ook ja voor de ‘brood’ nodige variatie.

The Toyota is super durable and that is a way of looking at sustainability too. What can I do? Sell it? The car will continue to go on. Scrap it? Would maybe be best but... that would destroy something that is pefectly alright. Think about your old long lasting Gore-Tex jacket with the very strong but not PFC free DWR. Same problem. That sad... things are changing. We bought a full electric Skoda Enyag and we love it. And the Toyo.... More news on that in a later video. Cheers, Gijs

Pro tip for applying wax to nubuck... Use a very gentle heat once applied and it evens out and absorbs in tk the leather. Doesn't need to be a high heat

I started with an ST2, almost everything was changed on the bike. Almost under warranty but how many times I found myself on the side of the road pushing it (I took out breakdown insurance so much that it was serious). How many days off or recovery time I had to take because I didn't arrive on time. How many days the bike was at the dealership (we're talking in months over 3 years). In principle I do 10,000Km/year I sold the bike with 28,000Km, when it should have had almost 40,000Km!!! I still had to take care of a lot of repairs (fork bearings, front wheel bearings, etc.) Info from the salesperson, I had no luck, it was the Monday bike. I keep my confidence and after 4 years on the ST2, I buy an ST3 Woe is me, even more problems. The bike had not yet left the showroom when the front headlight was not working properly, the brakes were mounted in reverse (front for rear and vice versa). Today the bike has 9000 km over 2 years, I should have had almost 18,000 km It has been at the dealership an incredible number of times for non-stop repairs. Still the majority under warranty, but still with the same drawbacks. At my expense fork bearings at 2000Km, broken spokes on the front wheel (then it was replaced under warranty), recently, front wheel bearings. The bike is not even 2 years old and I am more than €500 out of my pocket in repairs which should be covered by STROMER The bike is not entry-level, I bought it for almost €9,000 I can only advise anyone against buying a STROMER, they all have problems. And as long as you are under warranty, you will only get a small amount :) Regularly it is necessary to replace the motor wheel (1500€), the front wheel, the brake set, the motherboard, the control console, the V-shaped headlight, etc.

interesting ebike. though for me I'd go with a purpose-built eMTB with Pinion's E1.12 integrated gearbox/motor. And if I'm touring I can change tyres, add a trailer, and add a range extender or two if needed.

Dag Gijs! Leuke video. Ik heb nu zelf een Fjällräven abisko 55W, ben zelf een man maar hij loopt opzich prima. Ik heb hem 2dehands gekocht, dus in het opzicht van milieu zal hij nu wel rond de Vaude zitten. Mijn punt is alleen, ik ga (nog) niet perse vaak op trektocht. Deze zomervakantie ga ik voor het eerst met vrienden een huttentocht doen in Oostenrijk voor een week. De vaude vind ik er alleen echt super mooi uitzien, en ik zou het ook vet vinden om met zon mileuvriendelijk merk te wandelen, fjallraven is in dat opzicht iets minder milieuvriendelijk. Mijn vraag is nu: Is het het waard de Fjallraven te verkopen en de vaude aan te schaffen? Want 55L + nog wat extras door ook een zwevende top is misschien wel erg overkill. De Vaude is nog iets compacter en nieuwer. Het lijkt me wellicht ook wel eens leuk om een weekendje ofzo te gaan camperen in de ardennen bijv, lukt het dan om een tent en alles mee te nemen met de Vaude of is de fjallraven dan weer de betere optie? Wat zijn jouw aanraders? Hou ik de Abisko, of neem ik de Vaude? Groetjes Jules!

Goede review! Ik heb hem ook getest voor woon-werkverkeer in de omgeving van de Antwerpse haven. Eerst had ik de Ellio Max getest (45 kg) zonder vering. Dit was vreselijk; elke keer als ik over een kuil reed, had ik last van mijn nek en polsen. Daarna probeerde ik de Aska, en wat een verbetering was dat! Het voelde als zweven op een wolkje. Ik was meteen verkocht en heb er ook een besteld. Ik verwacht dat ik hem over 3 weken in huis heb! Groetjes vanuit Antwerpen!
